Background: The La Jolla Festival of the Arts is a non-profit art festival held annually since 1986 that showcases up to 200 of the west's finest artists.  There is a music stage that features regionally-prominent musicians, celebrity authors and book signing events, a food court, street chalking demonstrations by nationally-recognized artists, community service organizations, and a special events area with a different feature each year.  The Festival raises funds on behalf of the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Club to provide sports and recreation opportunities for disabled San Diegans as well as wounded warriors returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Story and Photo Opportunities: There are many advance story opportunities and the photo opportunities are colorful and unique.  The La Jolla Festival of the Arts provides a great source of storylines regarding the creative process and artistic development.  Our artists represent every medium imaginable and live in communities throughout the western US. The visuals here are outstanding in color, presentation, and design.  The La Jolla Festival of the Arts is a fundraiser of the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Club, which raises tens of thousands of dollars annually to provide sports and recreational activities to disabled persons.  Many of our beneficiaries have lost all or much of their traditional funding and now rely on organizations such as ours to continue their community service.  If your beat includes disabled rights, adaptive sports, wounded warriors, veterans affairs, water sports, snow skiing, tennis, basketball, and high school sports funding issues - let us help you tell a great story.
